Daunex duvets use only the softest and most valuable parts of the feather, which have the best ability to make
wick moisture away from the body, maintaining ideal body temperature.
Heat spots
The heat rating is the most practical and effective method to express a duvet's ability to retain heat.
This thermal coefficient is based on the measurement of the insulating properties of a material.
Daunex duvets are divided into 4 types:
Cool duvets ( Heat points 1-2 ): ideal for the spring/summer seasons, they help keep the body cool,
well insulated and dry.
Medium duvets ( 3 heat points ): ideal for mid-seasons, for moderately heated environments. It's the right one
halfway between a light and a winter duvet.
Warm duvets ( 4 heat points ): ideal for the autumn/winter season, for poorly heated rooms.
Super-warm duvets ( 5 heat points ): the “typical” winter duvet. Excellent warmth and insulation even for the
harsher winters and for unheated environments.
How to choose the right heating points?
The temperature of the room where you will be cuddling is essential for choosing the best goose down duvet:
Finally, keep in mind that it depends on your own personal sensation of heat, and since it is a very
subjective and therefore varies from person to person if you are sensitive to the cold or if vice versa it increases by 1 heat point
If you are warm, you decrease by 1 heat point.
We say you should be fine with the window ajar and even with it closed.
This is the difference you find between a goose down duvet and a synthetic one.

If you're looking for a hypoallergenic duvet, goose down is the solution.
The feather of this animal has the advantage of being completely hypoallergenic and anti-mite.

The fabrics that cover the padding of Daunex duvets and pillows are also a barrier against parasites:
Thanks to the extra-tightly woven cotton of the lining, mites cannot penetrate inside.

Feather and down, what's the difference?
Perhaps many people don't know that there is a very important difference between feathers and down. Down is
from the goose and is the most precious part of their plumage. Its tufted structure is what allows it to be
so light. These characteristics mean that the quantity of down used in a product is also
index of its quality: the higher the percentage of down in the composition of a product, the higher the
its quality.
For the bed and for clothing it is usual to use percentages of down higher than 70%: this guarantees
excellent performance for garments and products. The remaining percentage of padding is made up of feathers,
small feathers that are mixed with down.
The feather, which is a little heavier, has the same characteristics, but because of its weight it is preferred in
padding of furnishing products.
Maintenance
Here are our tips:
Air your duvet regularly. The best time of day to do this is early in the morning, when
the air is particularly clean and fresh and the sun is not aggressive.
Shake it regularly, but be careful not to abuse it! Wash it at least every 4 years, especially if you use it
very frequently. Keep it in its case when not in use.
How to wash your duvet? You don't need to take your duvet to the dry cleaners for a thorough cleaning. You can get it
excellent results even when washed at home, by hand or in the washing machine, as long as the instructions are followed in detail
reported on the label and, usually, those below:
Do not use chlorine bleaches, as they will irreparably damage the down.
Use the 30° program, max 40°.
Set the washing machine program for synthetic fibers or cotton.
If possible, plan for a spin cycle and quick drying.
Do not expose to direct sources of heat (radiators, sun, etc.).
Remember that a good wash requires large quantities of water.
If you prefer to hand wash your duvet:
Do not use chlorine bleaches.
Use warm water.
Use mild soap.
Rinse thoroughly, up to 7 times. The down jacket should drain clear water.
Dry thoroughly outdoors or indoors, but in any case, in a warm, dry environment. Try to shake
and tap each square of the product, you will help it drain and dry.
Do not expose it to direct sources of heat.
How to behave at the end of the season?
Down breathes and requires continuous airflow, even if filtered. Store your duvet in its original packaging.
original bag if you don't plan to use it for a long time: its case is specifically designed for
let it breathe and at the same time, protect it. Alternatively, a large cotton cloth can also do the trick.
Store the product when not in use. Do not use plastic bags!
Things not to do to a duvet, not even a Daunex duvet!
Don't use carpet beaters, carpet sweepers and vacuum cleaners: these diabolical tools do not go well with the
delicacy of feathers.
Don't suffocate it with other blankets: without air the duvet loses its particular characteristics.
Do not sew the internal parts of the duvet further: the best solution, the one that works best, is the one
proposed by the manufacturer.
